NRF PROTECT In-Person Conference Cancelled for June 2021

New Expanded Virtual Offering to be Announced

Statement issued by National Retail Federation today:

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and related executive orders continue to have a profound impact on the viability of in-person events into 2021. When we went virtual for the June 2020 PROTECT Conference and Expo, we had every intention of returning to in-person for the June 2021 event.

Unfortunately, with the slow rate of vaccinations distribution throughout the country, it is proving to be impossible for us to safely move forward with the planned in-person event for June 2021. We are saddened that we are not able to come together as we had hoped but, are excited to roll out an all new expanded virtual offering for June that we know you will want to be a part of.

In the weeks ahead, NRF will be providing additional information about the summer program as well as details about the NRF PROTECT 2022 Conference and Expo.

Editor's Note: This news follows NRF's announcement earlier this week that the NRF 2021 Big Show: Chapter 2, another event planned to be in-person this June, will also be turning into a fully-digital online event. The Big Show's annual location at the Javits Center in NYC is currently being used as a venue for vaccine distribution for New York residents and will most likely be unavailable during the first week of June.

Protests & Violence

Why 2020 Was One of the Most Violent Years in Decades

Sadly, 2020 was the deadliest year in United States history, primarily due to the coronavirus pandemic. The year also included unprecedented civil unrest following the police shooting deaths of several Black Americans, massive job losses, and varying personal restrictions due to the deadly COVID-19 virus.

Another major factor that set 2020 apart was the number of homicides. As Time magazine reported, the year was one of America’s most violent in decades as shootings rose dramatically with over 19,000 people killed in firearms-related incidents.

There Were More than 600 Shootings in the U.S. in 2020
that Involved Four or More People - Up 50% from 2019

While there were no large-scale mass shootings last year, shooting incidents did increase dramatically. Time pointed out that there were more than 600 shootings in the United States in 2020 that involved four or more people shot in the same incident. That’s the most in the past five years and represents an increase of nearly 50% compared to 2019. According to the National Commission on Covid-19 and Criminal Justice, homicide rates increased 42% during the summer and 34% in the fall compared to the same seasons in 2019.

Inauguration Day Protests
'Anti-Fascist' Demonstrators Arrested in Portland, Seattle after Smashing Windows, Vandalizing Buildings

Nearly 20 people were arrested during Inauguration Day protests in the Pacific Northwest intended to pressure President Joe Biden into action on immigration and police reform.

Police in Portland arrested 15 on charges of felony criminal mischief, riot and possession of a destructive device after some in a group of 150 people smashed windows and vandalized the headquarters of the Democratic Party of Oregon. None of its staff were in the building and this is not the first time the building has been targeted

The FBI previously warned of possible armed protests around the inauguration in state capitals by supporters of former President Donald Trump, but these demonstrators were described by local media as "antifascist" and "anarchists."

Demonstrators carried banners that read, "We don't want Biden — we want revenge!'' in response to “police murders” and “imperialist wars," and "We are ungovernable."

Hours later, a similar sized group gathered at the Federal Immigrations and Customs Enforcement building, some of whom were carrying pepper ball guns, devices like Tasers and fireworks, according to authorities. Portland police said federal law enforcement used crowd control munitions and made arrests, after an "unlawful assembly" was declared.

Police in Seattle said three people were arrested for property damage, burglary and an assault after a group of about 100 people marched and windows were broken at a federal courthouse.

That crowd also called for the abolition of ICE and several people set fire to an American flag outside the federal immigration court, The Seattle Times reported. usatoday.com

Massive D.C. Security Operation Winds Down
Troops begin leaving DC, security eases after unprecedented inauguration lockdown; few arrests reported

Federal authorities reported just three arrests Wednesday, none of them involving violence, as an unprecedented lockdown secured the inauguration of President Joe Biden. Two people were arrested for carrying unregistered ammunition Wednesday, while a third was found in possession of a pellet gun, as ceremonies stretching from the Capitol to Arlington Cemetery played out without incident.

Despite fears that domestic extremists would attempt new attacks just two weeks after the deadly assault on the Capitol, the U.S. Secret Service reported only 13 arrests since Jan. 13, when federal authorities launched a massive defensive operation to secure the city for the inauguration.

Less than 24 hours after Biden was sworn in, some of the extreme security measures, which included the deployment of 25,000 National Guard troops, began to loosen. Workers began taking down iron fencing, concrete barricades were being removed, vehicle checkpoints were abandoned and bridges reopened as the fortress capital slowly began to shed its collective armor. At the Lincoln Memorial, the white fabric pillars lining the reflecting pool were being dismantled. And the masses of troops guarding intersections were gone.

Small groups of Guard members were checking out of their hotels and preparing to return home to their civilian duties, and the palpable sense of tension had eased dramatically as FedEx delivery drivers resumed parcel drop-offs in areas once off limits to the public. usatoday.com

DC Begins to Reopen, ‘Enhanced' Security Remains Due to Threats
Daily life in Washington, D.C., is starting to return to normal, but Mayor Muriel Bowser said she has directed officials to keep an enhanced security posture after the Capitol riot, then multiple bomb threats and arrests on Inauguration Day.

"The threat of extremism is here," Chris Rodriguez, Director of the Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency (HSEMA), said. "You saw it on January 6, and it will continue to be a persistent and real threat to the District of Columbia, and to and to our region as well."

The official National Special Security Event (NSSE) for inauguration ended at noon Thursday, the U.S. Secret Service announced. But Bowser and Rodriguez said they have considered requesting another NSSE or similar designation for major events in the future, such as a Joint Session of Congress.

D.C. National Guard troops are expected to have a presence through the end of January, focused on crowd control and traffic management, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser said.

Guard troops from other states are already leaving the city, however. nbcwashington.com

Retailers welcome swift action from Biden White House to combat COVID-19

Store workers have been left to enforce mask-wearing and social distancing, and deal with sometimes combative customers.

On Inauguration Day, three major retail organizations welcomed the Biden Administration, and all zeroed in on its actions to revamp the White House response to the pandemic. An order to elevate and better coordinate the government's pandemic fight and another to require masks on federal property and encourage it elsewhere were issued in the afternoon shortly after Joe Biden was sworn in.

Most retailers last year swiftly embraced mask-wearing and social distancing, even in areas where they weren't mandated by lawmakers. But it's been retail workers (among the lowest paid in the U.S.), who have had to enforce rules often flouted by their customers and have been left vulnerable to infection.

Biden's moves Wednesday mark the strongest White House endorsement of the best-known methods of thwarting the pandemic outside of a vaccine. While a number of vaccines have been developed against COVID-19, distribution is in the early stages and so far has been slow.

The National Retail Federation, RILA and the American Apparel & Footwear Association and several retail chief executives last year urged political leaders to require consumers to wear masks and practice social distancing. retaildive.com

President Biden's 1st Executive Order Focuses on COVID
Biden signs ‘100 days mask challenge,’ mandating masks in federal buildings

In his first act as President, Joe Biden signed an executive order, requiring masks on federal property. He’s also challenging all Americans to wear one for the next 100 days. The President’ can’t force cities and states to impose mask mandates, but can control what happens on federal property. It includes post offices, the VA, national parks, and planes.

President Biden signed his first executive order, called the “100 days masking challenge.” It directs federal agencies to comply with C-D-C guidelines on mask-wearing and physical distancing and it applies to federal buildings, federal lands. news4jax.com

NRF Issues Statement about President Biden’s “100 Days Masking Challenge”
The National Retail Federation today issued the following statement from President and CEO Matthew Shay in response to President Biden’s first executive order that calls on Americans to wear masks for 100 days and requires their use on federal property in an effort to control the spread of COVID-19. “As the first industry group to call for nationwide mask wearing, NRF appreciates the executive action today by the Biden Administration that calls for a 100-day mask-wearing challenge, including the requirement that masks be worn on federal property and on airlines, trains and transit systems that travel between states." Strategy to Speed Up Vaccines & Testing
Biden releases national COVID strategy, will order agencies to use Defense Production Act
President Biden released his national strategy to end the COVID-19 pandemic Thursday, which will include using the Defense Production Act (DPA) and other powers to speed up the manufacturing of testing and vaccine supplies and other items needed to fight COVID-19.

The Trump administration had resisted calls to release a comprehensive plan to fight COVID-19, instead deferring significant authority to the states. The plan released by the Biden administration Thursday aims to instill confidence in the U.S. pandemic response by accelerating the vaccine rollout, boosting testing and access to treatments and protecting those at most risk, including communities of color. thehill.com

Business Leaders Take Action
Fed-Up Executives Plot a Faster Covid-19 Vaccine Rollout

Executives from an industrial conglomerate, a health system and a professional sports ownership group met up this month in their Charlotte, N.C., neighborhood to walk and vent. The national rollout of Covid-19 vaccine doses, they agreed, wasn’t going fast enough. By the end of the stroll, they had sketched the outline of a plan to speed things up: Combine the logistics technology of Honeywell International Inc., the expertise of health system Atrium Health, and the real estate of Tepper Sports & Entertainment to inoculate thousands more people a day than the average North Carolina vaccination site currently does.

The North Carolina executives aren’t the only business leaders stepping in to offer private-sector expertise to help more Americans get Covid-19 shots. Washington state this week said that private companies will lend expertise to accelerate its vaccine rollout, among them Starbucks Corp., which will provide help with vaccine-administration facility layout and has started working on ways to reduce patient wait times. wsj.com

Amazon offers to help Biden speed delivery of COVID vaccines
Amazon is offering its help to President Biden with rollout of the COVID vaccine, while seeking to get its employees inoculated "at the earliest appropriate time." In a letter written to Biden and dated Wednesday, Amazon Worldwide Consumer CEO Dave Clark said the e-commerce giant is prepared to leverage its operations to help vaccinate 100 million Americans in the first 100 days of the president's administration. The letter also calls for vaccinating Amazon employees, many of whom are essential workers, as soon as possible. usatoday.com

Three Surprising 2021 Retail Predictions

By Tony D'Onofrio, Global Retail Influencer

In early 2020, the retail industry was off to a very strong start. Through February USA retail sales grew 7.5%. Then March came in as a pandemic lion with a substantial part of the world hitting the pause button. We all very quickly learned the difference between essential and non-essential retailers. The financial pain for the global retail industry for all of 2020 will total over $1.6 trillion.

The good news is that key major retail markets such as China and the United States have already overall recovered to pre-pandemic levels. Here are three predictions for the new retail year.

Safety Concerns Will Be with Us into 2022
An April 2020 consumer survey found that consumers felt safest in grocery stores, followed by drug stores and big box retailers. Malls ranked lowest with only 33% of respondents saying they would feel safe shopping in these locations. Sixty-five percent of women did not feel safe trying clothes in dressing rooms, 78% felt unsafe testing beauty products, and 66% had similar concerns working with sales associates.

August KPMG retail research elevated safety to a top 3 purchase driver for consumers. "Personal safety is a new consumer expectation that is perceived to be a basic need alongside value for money and ease of buying. These basic needs must be met before consumers are able to consider psychological needs such as a great customer experience or the needs of others."

'Canada's Retail Epstein' is Still Behind Bars
Nygard lawyers ask judge for more time, no decision in Wed. bail hearing
Peter Nygard will spend at least a few more days behind bars after his lawyers told a Winnipeg court Wednesday they need more time to adjust their submission in an ongoing bail hearing following his arrest last month on charges in the United States of sex trafficking and racketeering.

Another bail hearing has been set for Jan. 28 at 10 a.m. in Winnipeg.

Nygard’s defence again brought up the 79-year-olds multiple health complications, which they say means death is all but certain if he contracts COVID-19 behind bars. Defence lawyer Jay Prober called their bail plan “rock solid,” and said because of Nygard’s condition, health care workers would be at the property 24/7.

Federal lawyers say the seriousness of the allegations Peter Nygard faces in the United States outweighs any risk the Canadian fashion mogul faces behind bars.

Nygard was arrested last month in Winnipeg under the Extradition Act and faces nine charges in the Southern District of New York, including sex trafficking and racketeering. globalnews.ca

The new Roaring Twenties? Maybe
Are the 2020s really the new Roaring Twenties? Heartened by the introduction of a vaccine that will soon see people dining out and traveling once more, as well as a host of economy-driving new technologies, positivists point to a new period of economic dynamism.

But, muses Medium’s Steve LeVine, is this just collective wishful thinking? The World Bank forecasts the 2020s is likely to be “a lost decade” with limp annual growth — while others caution the Roaring Twenties ended blighted by seething resentment surrounding wealth inequality. linkedin.com

American optimism is growing: Survey

Experts — including Gretchen Rubin, author of "The Happiness Project" — cite the past year's challenges for helping people better appreciate what they have in life. Rubin also credits the arrival of vaccines and a lack of a commute for improving people's outlooks. linkedin.com

New Administration Focused on Cyber Security
SolarWinds Attack, Cyber Supply Chain Among Priorities for Biden Administration

During Senate confirmation hearings, the nominees for Secretary of Homeland Security and Director of National Intelligence pledged to focus on cybersecurity.

With his inauguration, President Joseph Biden inherits a number of significant national crises, from an ongoing pandemic, to a bifurcated economy, to the fallout from a massive nation-state espionage attack against US companies and government agencies.

While the administration will initially focus on the pandemic and the economy, cybersecurity will also be a top priority for the US government, said two nominees for top security posts — Secretary for the Department of Homeland Security and Director of National Intelligence — during their Senate confirmation hearings on Jan. 19. Cybersecurity is integral, underpinning the US economy and ability to govern, said Avril Haines, the administration's nominee for director of national intelligence, during her confirmation hearing.

"One of the great challenges we face — in the United States, in particular — is the relative asymmetry of the threat in cyber," she said in response to senators' questions. "It is relatively easy for adversaries to hold at risk what are
high-value assets to the United States given how much we rely on cyber and digital work for our economy, for our security [and] for so many different issues."

In the wake of the SolarWinds supply chain attack that has led to thousands of compromises at companies and government agencies, cybersecurity officials will have to scramble to get up to speed. While the issue is not listed on the Biden administration's page of policy priorities, the incoming administration has already made several appointments that indicate its direction.

In addition to the two cabinet-level posts, former National Security Agency cyber expert Rob Joyce will become deputy national security advisor for cyber and emerging technology for the National Security Council (NSC), replacing Anne Neuberger, who will become the deputy national security adviser, where she will take charge of cybersecurity for the entire US federal government. darkreading.com

Ransomware is now the biggest cybersecurity concern for CISOs
A survey of chief information security officers (CISOs) and chief security officers (CSOs) by cybersecurity Proofpoint found that ransomware is now viewed as the main cybersecurity threat to their organisation over the course of the next year.

Almost half – 46% – of CSOs and CISOs surveyed said that ransomware or other forms of extortion by outsiders represents the biggest cybersecurity threat.

Ransomware continues to be one of the most damaging and disruptive cyberattacks, while for cybercriminals, encrypting networks and demanding bitcoin in exchange for the decryption key is the easiest way to quickly make a large amount of money from a hacked network.

A significant percentage of organisations will pay the ransom – which can amount to millions of dollars – because they perceive it as the quickest means of restoring the network and the least amount of further disruption to the business. And
it's because these ransoms are paid that ransomware remains so appealing – and lucrative – for cybercriminals.

Some of the other cyberattacks that CISOs consider the to be the biggest threats this year include
cloud account compromise, insider threats, phishing and business email compromise attacks. While not as visible as ransomware attacks, all of these cyber threats can also cause problems for organisations – especially if hackers are able to combine attacks like phishing and compromising cloud account login credentials in order to gain further access to networks. zdnet.com

Visibility, control and governance holding back cloud transformation
While 91% of organizations were successful in increasing security as a result of adopting cloud services, it remains a top concern for many, an Aptum study reveals. The report identifies common security, compliance and governance challenges impacting organizations undergoing cloud transformation.

The research reveals that 51% of survey respondents see security as the main driver behind cloud adoption. However, 38% cite security and data protection as the primary barrier to cloud transformation.

Indoor security drone may replace night security guards
A new indoor security drone may have its sights on replacing them on the midnight shift. The Israeli startup Indoor Robotics has designed a quadcopter drone it calls Tando to keep an eye on companies once the employees have gone home for the day. Tando consists of three parts, the drone itself, some ceiling-mounted tiles where the drones recharge, and an app that allows users to manage it. The drones hang bat-like from the ceiling when they’re not patrolling. But even in repose, they’re watching. Once the staff has cleared out, they begin flying around the rooms and hallways. The indoor security drones have video and thermal cameras and scan their environment in 360 degrees. If they spot intruders, fires, or anything they don’t particularly like, the app sends out a notice to the system administrator. dronedj.com

Improving Security for Cannabis Growers
AI software makes cannabis business' cameras systems smarter

AI software can filter out 90% or more of alarms caused by nothing more threatening than a passing dog or blowing leaves

With security regulations varying in locations across the U.S. and Canada – even between a city and its neighboring jurisdiction – it’s easy to see how business owners could become confused and frustrated. Integrators specializing in securing cannabis businesses have sprung up to help owners comply with regulations through detailed security plans, including access and inventory control, lights, vaults, gates and video surveillance. The quality and standard of surveillance video is a critical component of these systems.

What Works in Video Surveillance

Recorded video is ideal for forensic purposes and providing visual proof regulations are met. But it’s the live feed that enables operators to see crimes in progress and immediately share data with security guards or local first responders. Some jurisdictions require live monitoring 24/7. However, video monitoring is not a DIY project; it’s better to leave it to professional central station operators. It’s no secret within the security industry that 95% or more of traditional video alerts are false.

AI-based Software Enhances Video

The cloud-based software easily integrates with a monitoring station’s existing operating software. The cameras located in and around a cannabis facility are added through an easy drag-and-drop process. A software dashboard highlights idle cameras, enabling an integrator to see if they need replacing or should be moved to another area to increase their value. securityinfowatch.com

Why Cannabis Is Shut Out of $900 Billion Economic
Aid Act

In tranches of up to $10M, the federal government is doling out $900B of forgivable loans to borrowers other than “plant touching” marijuana-related businesses.

Pursuant to the Economic Aid to Hard-Hit Small Businesses, Nonprofits, and Venues Act (Economic Aid Act), supplementing the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), on Jan. 6, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and Department of Treasury issued Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) guidances for forgivable loans to new and previous borrowers, expanded the parameters of how the monies may be spent, and provided “set asides” for “minority, underserved, veteran and women-owned” businesses.

While closed to those growing, processing, transporting or selling marijuana, a business not directly “aiding marijuana’s use, growth, enhancement or development” is eligible for Economic Aid Act benefits including $284 billion in forgivable Paycheck Protection Program loans. cannabisbusinessexecutive.com

Recreational marijuana sales could begin in Arizona later in week
Arizona adults could be legally purchasing marijuana for recreational use by the end of the week. State health officials began accepting applications Tuesday to run some of the more than 120 recreational sites that voters agreed to in November to allow to sell marijuana to anyone.

On paper, the state has up to 60 days to review and approve. But Arizona Department of Health Services spokesman Steve Elliott told Capitol Media Services it’s not going to take anywhere near that long. tucson.com

The overpayment scam enters the world of online shopping fraud
With the rise of online shopping, consumers are buying and selling items at a higher pace than ever before. Between eBay, Shopify, Facebook Marketplace, WooCommerce, Amazon Handmade, Etsy, and others, there are literally millions of people who have built millions of little online shops from the comfort of their kitchen table, generating billions in sales.

Digital crooks love all that’s going on and have created the “overpayment scam” to get in on all the action. Sadly, the scam is proving to be a winner for them but a loser for online shop owners.

The scam is pretty simple: the crooks offer to pay you more than the listed price -- sometimes claiming they want to cover shipping or other fees for you “because you’ve been so helpful.” They’ll often ask to overpay through a digital wallet, such as PayPal Venmo, claiming it’s a matter of policy. The Better Business Bureau (BBB) reports that they may mail a check for more than the asking price in some cases.

Step two is that the scammer will claim the overpayment was an honest mistake and ask the seller for the difference back. However, once the seller returns the money, they’ll quickly find out that the initial payment was bogus when the check bounces or the buyer’s online payment is denied. Not only does the seller lose the money they “returned,” but on top of that, they’ve also lost the item they sold. consumeraffairs.com

Suing Retailer for $850K after Losing Leg Trying to Stop Thief
Asheville, NC: Customer says he lost a leg trying to stop thief at NC grocery store
Now he’s suing for $850,000. Just before Christmas in 2019, a regular customer at a discount grocery store in Western North Carolina tried to stop a shoplifter who made off with an armful of meat. It cost him part of his leg. Now William Modlin, who was 61 when he got run over in the parking lot of a Go Grocery Outlet in Asheville, wants $850,000 from the store chain he says is responsible. In a lawsuit moved to federal court on Friday from Buncombe County Superior Court, an attorney for Modlin said United Grocery Outlet — which operates a chain of discount stores known as Go Grocery Outlet in six states across the Southeast — failed to adequately deescalate the situation after Modlin confronted the shoplifter in the parking lot.

Modlin “suffered an irreparable de-gloving injury to the bottom of his right foot, thereby necessitating an amputation of his right leg just below the knee,” the complaint says. Attorneys and a representative from United Grocery Outlet did not immediately respond to McClatchy News’ request for comment Wednesday. An attorney representing Modlin also did not respond.

According to the complaint, Modlin was entering the grocery store where he regularly shopped on Leicester Highway on Dec. 16, 2019, when he saw another man hurry past the checkout with an armful of meat. “Hey man, what are you doing!” he said, according to court filings. The shoplifter made a break for the parking lot, where Modlin followed him intending to get a license plate number or a description of the car, the complaint said. Instead, he said, he found the man sitting in the front seat of a car with the door open.

As Modlin reportedly tried to encourage the man to “do the right thing” by leaving the stolen meat and driving away, his attorney said, a grocery store employee “suddenly and angrily appeared” with a box cutter threatening to slash the man’s tires. That’s when the man accused of shoplifting “suddenly and without warning accelerated his vehicle in reverse and fled the scene,” the lawsuit said. “As a result, plaintiff was trapped and struck by the opened driver’s door. In the process of the shoplifter fleeing, plaintiff was knocked to the ground, dragged across the asphalt and ran over.” The shoplifter fled the scene and, after exhausting their leads, law enforcement closed the case in January 2020. charlotteobserver.com

Tuesday evening just before 7:00 PM Joplin Police responded to Academy Sports & Outdoors for a report of an armed robbery. The female suspect was fleeing the store. But officers were able to capture her. Detectives determined during investigation the suspect, Tiffany M. Madison, age 34 of St. Louis, Missouri, was concealing merchandise in the store and was confronted by an employee. Capt William Davis tells us in a media release Wednesday, “Madison then grabbed a knife from the shelf in the store, removed it from the packaging and used it to threaten the employee. Madison then fled the store with the merchandise and the knife.” fourstateshomepage.com

Westminster, CO: JSA Warns of Spike in Grab-and-Run Repeat Offenders
The Jewelers’ Security Alliance has reported an increase in the number of grab-and-run thefts being perpetrated by repeat offenders. According to an email alert sent out to the trade last Thursday, four men—three operating together and one alone—who were already wanted for several thefts recently struck again. On Jan. 13, JSA said a man entered a retail jewelry store in Westminster, Colorado with two other male suspects, saying he wanted to look at gold chains. The suspects displayed a large amount of cash as they looked at product and asked if they could use it to pay. JSA said two of the suspects started to leave, saying their ride had arrived. The third suspect, who was looking at the chain at the time, grabbed it, and all three fled in a white Ford F-150 pickup truck. The trio are believed to have also committed grab-and-run thefts in Loveland and Greeley, Colorado on Jan. 13, fleeing in the same white Ford pickup. nationaljeweler.com

Memphis, TN: Armored Truck Guard Arrested For Fake Robbery
Two friends are facing serious charges after a robbery heist to steal more than $100,000 from an armored truck outside Wolfchase Galleria. But the heist wasn’t exactly Oceans 11. When police started investigating and asking questions, the crime came screeching to a halt. The mall was quiet on Wednesday afternoon when an armored truck pulled up with hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash to drop off. One guard went inside, while the driver waited in the truck. Police say as the truck sat outside the mall, a man reached into the van, stealing a large amount of cash, and then fleeing in a dark-colored sedan. The scam didn’t get very far. According to the affidavit, the armored truck driver was taken in for questioning. Police say that is when they started noticing inconsistencies. wmcactionnews5.com

Being a mentor can be an extremely worthwhile experience and sometimes the mentee brings mentoring to the relationship as well because we all learn from each other no matter what role we play. And while you may be reluctant or just feel time-strapped, try giving it a chance even for a short time and see what happens. As the old expression goes, one person can make a difference and you could help a fellow LP executive grow beyond their own expectations and, in having helped the number of people we've helped in our mere search role, I for one can say there is no better feeling in the world than helping someone reach beyond! That's what has actually kept me doing what I do for all these years!

Just a Thought,
Gus
