DE: FENCING OPERATION: 23 Indicted in 'Operation Golden Eye
Twenty-three people have been indicted or arrested following an 18-month
investigation targeting the illegal practices of a Middletown pawn shop,
the Delaware State Police said on Wednesday. The months long
investigation, dubbed "Operation Golden Eye," began in January 2015 and
targeted the illegal practices of the Gold Fever pawn shop, at. in
Middletown. The practices included purchasing stolen merchandise. The
operators were routinely under-reporting the pawning of the merchandise
to the pawn regulatory agency. Last week, a New Castle County grand jury
indicted the 23 individuals on multiple charges, including,
racketeering, conspiracy to commit racketeering and Organized Retail
Theft. Search warrants were executed on Aug. 2, as a result of the
searches, Hale said investigators seized the following items: $100,000
in over-the-counter health care products and a long list of weapons.

Marshall's employee pleads guilty to $31,000 theft
A Dingmans Ferry, Pa. woman admitted to taking more than $31,000 worth
of merchandise while an employee at Marshalls. Judy Holgate, 52, pleaded
guilty in state Superior Court in Newton on Aug. 8 before Judge William
J. McGovern to fourth-degree theft. Holgate admitted that from 2011 to
2016 while an employee at Marshalls, she took $31,500 worth of
merchandise and, at times, would return stolen merchandise for a store
credit or cash.

Hardware employee steals 25 Firearms from his store; purchased 2 weapons
for a penny a piece
Grandview Police arrested a 26-year-old Sunnyside man they say stole 25
firearms from Ace Hardware Store where he worked. The owner of the store
told police that computerized store records showed the man had deleted
the firearms from the store's inventory. And, recorded that he had
purchased two weapons from the store for a penny a piece.

Secret shoplifter charged with $400 theft and Hit & Run
Tyiona Taylor, 21, was arraigned on charges after police accused her of
taking $403 of merchandise from Victoria's Secret at the mall and then
crashing her vehicle into another vehicle in a mall parking lot as she
attempted to flee. Taylor crashed her vehicle into another vehicle in a
mall parking lot as police were arriving. Taylor and her passenger fled
their vehicle on foot, but were apprehended by officers less than a
minute later in a mall parking lot.

SC: Thief attempted to steal 16 cases of beer from Walmart
A man walked through the Garden Center with 16 cases of beer and began
to place the cases into a car. The loss prevention officer asked the man
for his receipt, but the vehicle pulled away, leaving 14 (valued at
$275) of the 16 cases behind.

Houma, LA: Three
charged with shoplifting at Dillard's in Southland Mall
Two men and a woman are accused of stealing clothing Monday from
Dillard's in Houma. Alvin Welch, Jonah Stevenson was charged with
Organized Retail Theft, and Tiera Williams is charged with accessory
after the fact to theft. A deputy was working a detail at the store
inside Southland Mall observed Welch and Stevenson running from the
store with two large bags of merchandise.

Man who stole 4 TVs arrested trying to steal 3 more
The Eaton County Sheriff's said they were called to Walmart Tuesday
night on reports of a retail fraud in progress. Employees had called
after seeing a man in the store who had allegedly taken four televisions
from the store over the weekend. The man apparently had three
televisions loaded into a cart. He then just wheeled the TVs out of the
store without paying for them and loaded them up in a waiting car. The
car left the lot, but was quickly pulled over by deputies.
