District Manager charged with $240,000 theft, court orders $150,000 in
restitution A former Circle K district manager
was sentenced Wednesday to five years of community control sanctions and ordered
to make restitution after stealing more than $150,000 from the company over
several years. Donna F. Rexroad, 51, of Dunkirk was sentenced by Hancock County
Common Pleas Judge Reginald Routson for grand theft, a third-degree felony. She
was also placed on 90 days of electronic monitoring. Assistant Hancock County
Prosecutor Alex Treece said the theft exceeded $240,000, but the parties agreed
on $150,000 in restitution, the amount that could be proven. Rexroad must pay an
estimated $30,000 a year to Circle K. Judge Routson said the amount of
restitution is "substantial" and "one of the highest orders of restitution the
court has considered."

Chicago, IL: Barneys hit
with a $50,000 Grab & Run; nearly 20 purses stolen
Chicago police are searching for three suspects after more than a dozen purses
were stolen from a high-end retail store on Oak Street in the Gold Coast
neighborhood. The theft took place at Barneys New York around 10:08 a.m.
Wednesday, just after the store opened and when few customers were inside.
Police said three suspects - 2 males and one female - went into the store,
grabbed several purses, then fled in a waiting vehicle. Barneys has not
commented on the incident, but police said the thieves made off with about 15 to
17 purses, valued at upwards of $50,000. No weapons were shown and no one was
injured or threatened, police said.

Indicted, 20 still under investigation in multiple ORC thefts: investigation
began at Marshall's As of Wednesday, it was
unknown whether the arrests were related to one another or whether they were
connected to a reported investigation by the Greenville Police Department at the
local Marshalls store. Police Chief Daniel J. Busken said Tuesday that 18
indictments had been issued in the case, with the department wanting to speak
with more than 20 others. The indictments were issued sealed, pending the arrest
of the person or persons named in the charges. None of the indictments had been
unsealed and made public as of Wednesday afternoon.

TN: 2 Men Wanted In Lowe's $1,000 Power Tool Theft
Police have been searching for two men who allegedly stole power tools and
threatened store employees. Authorities with the Franklin Police Department said
the incident happened July 9 at the Lowe's on Mallory Lane. Officials said the
two men walked out of the store with nearly $1,000 worth of tools. The
merchandise was three Dewalt power tool sets.

AL: Police are seeking the identity of a man and woman accused of shoplifting in
April from the Wal-Mart Supercenter Police Capt.
Shane Healey said the incident happened on April 26 around 8:30 p.m. He released
images Wednesday morning showing the two allegedly exiting the store with $544
worth of stolen merchandise concealed in a large gray plastic bin.

Two Romanians who used EU free movement laws to shoplift
in Britain have been jailed for 27 weeks each - and now want to go home. Viorel
Flamind, 27, and his cousin Lavinia Ferar, 19, stole goods worth £2,600 within
weeks of arriving here. They were arrested last Saturday after a young female
shop assistant chased and confronted them in Llandudno, North Wales. Flamind has
been in the UK three-and-a-half months while Ferar arrived less than a month
ago. Within days of meeting up they launched a crime wave targeting Superdrug
stores.
