Inspiration for 2016 and Beyond
Verisk Retail's "Up North" InterACT 2016 experience, at the historic Grand View
Resort in Nisswa, Minnesota, has once again been acclaimed by its customers as
one of the year's most essential events for growth and advancement of loss
prevention practitioners.
Over 70 retail professionals, representing more than 40 retail brands, gathered
to share insights in maximizing their use of the Aspect EliteLP POS-analysis and
APIS case management systems, as well as to gain cutting-edge loss prevention
knowledge. InterACT's robust agenda, once again, qualified attendees for
Continuing Education Credits toward widely-recognized industry certifications,
including LPC, LPQ and CFI.
"Minnesota's North Woods provided the perfect setting for our user community to
share best practices and gain new insights into the ever-advancing world of
applied LP technologies," said David Duhaime, President of Verisk Retail.
"Months of planning and preparation invested by Verisk Retail and our
customer-driven Steering Committee was rewarded ten-fold as we were inspired
by the innovations of our user community and deepened our insight into the
many opportunities to leverage partnerships to meet the evolving demands of
the road ahead."
L. Wayne Hoover, Vice President of Wicklander-Zulawski & Associates, provided
this year's keynote address, engaging and educating attendees on the subject of
"Detecting Deception at Home and Abroad." Participants walked away with new
skills and insights, as well as a few laughs. Other highlights included in-depth
discussions on the LP implications of omni-channel, risks and controls inherent
in emerging currency fraud, and enhanced communication through data
visualization. Attendees also contributed their thoughts and ideas on future
Verisk Retail initiatives and learned about new and unique retail offerings
available exclusively through Verisk Retail and the broader Verisk Analytics
family of companies.
Over the three-day conference, participants attended 35 educational,
best-practice and hands-on learning sessions. The packed agenda was planned by
the InterACT 2016 Steering Committee, including retail partners Kim Junko
(American Eagle Outfitters), Tom Zimmerman (DSW), Mark Sutherland (Indigo
Books), Lory Whitton (Kinney Drugs), Dale Casper (Exchange), David Linnemann
(7-Eleven), Cristina Hanson (Toys 'R' Us), Keith Thompson (Cabela's), and Scott
Vandermer (Big 5 Sporting Goods).
