Fountain Valley, CA: Man suspected of returning stolen goods to Costco,
injures Police Officer
A 43-year-old man who was trying to return stolen merchandise to a Costco in Fountain Valley over the weekend injured a police officer during his arrest, police said. Authorities responded at 12:20 p.m. Saturday to the Costco in the 17900 block of Newhope Street, where Chad Michael Mishler was trying to return the stolen goods, Fountain Valley police said. Police did not say how much merchandise Mishler was trying to return. Mishler was forcibly detained by an officer and a loss-prevention employee as he tried to leave the store. Ocala, FL: Man accused of stealing $4,000 in jewelry from JC Penney
On Thursday, police were called to JC Penney at the Paddock Mall, after receiving a call about a robbery. A convicted felon who police say smashed an enclosed glass case and stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry was arrested by Ocala police after he was identified by witnesses. Lamont Eugene Roundtree was picked out by two men who told officers that they had seen the 37-year-old man smash the display cases and remove the necklaces. As Officer Mike Rossi was patting down Roundtree, he found 15 necklaces in one of the suspect's pockets. Some of the jewelry had small amounts of blood on them, according to officers. Natick, MA: Natick Police search for $2,300 sunglasses thief
Police are searching for a man they said stole more than $2,300 worth of sunglasses from a store earlier this month. According to the Natick Police Department's official Facebook page, on April 7, an unknown man went into a store and stole eight pairs of Versace sunglasses and one pair of Gucci glasses. Johnson City, TN: Woman charged with felony shoplifting at Belk
An Elizabethton woman was arrested Friday after police said she attempted to take $750 worth of merchandise from Belk in The Mall at Johnson City without paying. Tara T. Collins, 28, Sunrise Drive, was charged with one count of felony shoplifting after being apprehended by loss prevention personnel. A press release said personnel observed Collins take merchandise into the women's restroom on multiple occasions and remove the price tags. West Windsor, NJ: Police search for 2 suspects in Walmart Price Changing
Printer Scam
Police are searching for two males who tried to steal Epson printers from Walmart. Police say one of the suspects cut the security tag off of a printer and then paid for the item using a lesser priced bar code. Around that same time, a different male tried to steal one of the printers while pretending to use the self-checkout. The suspects were later confronted by store personnel, but they fled before police arrived. Both printers were recovered. trentonian.com
