Toronto wraps up pilot of body-worn cameras
The Toronto Police Service's body-worn camera pilot project moved into its
evaluation phase on April 1. The agency will begin drafting its evaluation
report now that the cameras have been removed from active duty. The cameras were

Red Deer businesses stung by counterfeit U.S. $50 bills
RCMP are on the trail of several suspects who've been passing off fake U.S.
money all around Red Deer. One convenience store was stung Tuesday when a man
used the bogus bills to purchase a number of prepaid VISA cards. A second
suspect paid with two counterfeit $50 US bills at a liquor store on March 11.
RCMP also have information about a man and woman who passed a counterfeit $50 US
bill. In other parts of Alberta, there have been reports of counterfeit $20 and
$100 U.S. bills.

Ikea Canada opens Mississauga distribution center
The facility was built to support its four full-size stores in the Greater
Toronto Area, as well as its new pick-up points and soon-to-open e-commerce
store. Over the past few months, the retailer has opened pick-up points -
smaller-scale stores where customers can pick-up goods ordered via the web site
or catalogue - in the St. Catharines, London and Whitby, Ontario, as well as
Quebec City. It will open two more in the Ontario cities of Kitchener and

Tofield man arrested in large Alberta credit card scam
RCMP say at least 13 orders for tires, totalling $141,000, were placed
Boyle RCMP have taken a 28-year-old Tofield man into custody in connection with
a credit card scam that bilked a local business out of around $140,000. He is
also facing charges stemming from a similar scam in Tofield. The RCMP's
investigation found the scam to be "wide ranging" and they said there is a high
likelihood Edmonton businesses have been affected.

Saint-Quentin, NB: RCMP seek suspect after Armed Robbery of a Kedgwick jewelry
store
Police say at about 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, someone walked in the Boutique Or-Déco
in Kedgwick. He left the store with several thousand dollars worth of jewels.

Ottawa Police have released new images in the hopes of solving two recent
jewellery store robberies in the capital
Police released this photo as well as a video Tuesday of a suspect believed to
be involved in a robbery at Carlingwood Mall and Billings Bridge on January 4,
2016. The person of interest in this case purchased two large hammers at a south
Ottawa hardware store a day before the alleged robberies.

Mount Pearl, NF: 'Large quantity' of narcotics stolen in pharmacy Armed Robbery
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says a "large quantity" of narcotics were
stolen in an armed robbery Wednesday night. Police were called to Pharmachoice
on St. David's Avenue in Mount Pearl at 8:18 p.m. Two men with their faces
covered were reported to have held up the pharmacy. Officers and a K-9 unit
responded but made no arrest.

Pitt Meadows, BC: Sally Beauty Supply store robbed at gunpoint
A beauty supply store in Pitt Meadows was robbed at gun-point on Wednesday. Just
after 5 p.m., a young Caucasian man wearing a hoodie entered Sally Beauty Supply
at Meadowtown Centre, produced what the on-duty store employee believed to be a
handgun and demanded money. He was given an undisclosed amount of money, then
fled.
