● Identify the root
causes of inventory shrink for
stores within an assigned group of
stores; develop innovative solutions
to minimize exposure; execute
appropriate asset protection
countermeasures. |
● Participate in
team member awareness training for
high shrink stores; review
operational practices relating to
the execution of controls designed
to minimize the exposure to internal
theft, professional shoplifting,
vendor theft, bad checks, cash
losses and workers comp and general
liability claims. |
● Conduct internal
theft investigations using all legal
means necessary and within the
framework of established department
investigative policies and
procedures. |
● Conduct external
theft investigations and indentify
organized retail theft for stores
suffering enormous losses as
reported by store management and
supported by inventory shrink
results and sales to purchase
reporting. |
● Maintain thorough
understanding of POS exception based
reporting tools and utilize this
software effectively in detecting,
investigating and resolving problems
associated with front end and
pharmacy shrink. |
● Partner with
store operations and conduct
inventory investigations as required
adhering to established shrink
guidelines; develop and recommend
action plans designed to correct
deficiencies and minimize the
exposure to shrink. |
● Maintain a
thorough understanding of
shoplifting directives (6 steps) and
ensure that stores within the
assigned group of stores are
adhering to this program. |
● Monitor and
follow-up on failing audits within
assigned group of stores and partner
with the auditor, asset protection,
district manager and store directors
to correct deficiencies. |
● Ensure stores are
strictly enforcing direct store
delivery (“DSD”) controls and
provide DSD training for team
members as needed; follow-up and
report discrepancies to the district
manager and sr manager, regional
asset protection. |
● Execute and
monitor the key control program and
burglar alarm program for stores
within an assigned group of stores
and strictly enforce this program
following corporate policies and
procedures. |
● Participate and
assist in inventory audits to
include perishable and
non-perishable items for high
loss/high risk stores; report any
irregularities to the sr manager,
regional asset protection and
district manager. |
● Monitor the
performance and training of
contracted security/law enforcement
personnel for stores within an
assigned group of stores and ensure
adherence to established policies
and procedures; manage the budget
make improvement recommendations to
maintain standards. |
● Select, train and
supervise retail asset protection
team members assigned to stores
within an assigned group of stores;
ensure these individuals are
adhering to asset protection
policies and procedures. |
● Oversee and
manage the company initiated safety
program; ensure that stores are
investigating accidents as they
occur and that those investigations
are thorough and well documented. |
● Manage the
physical aspects of the company
initiated safety program; ensure
that the appropriate countermeasures
have been deployed in stores and
that those countermeasures are
utilized according to policy,
continuously stocked and that team
members are appropriately educated. |
● Develop strong
partnerships with local law
enforcement officials and other
retail asset protection departments. |
● Participate in
professional development such as
in-store/corporate training and
industry standard professional
designates including Certified Fraud
Examiner (CFE), Certified Forensic
Interview (CFI), Certified
Protection Professional (CPP) and
collegiate courses in retail asset
protection/loss prevention. |
● Perform other
job-related duties as assigned. |
