Habitual ID thief busted after hitting Best Buy in Norwalk,
Conn., and Target in Stamford, Conn.
A prolific identity thief, collared earlier this month by
Stamford Police, will soon face charges in relation to a
series of Westport thefts. Stamford Police collared Gecaj on
Oct. 4 after he was allegedly spotted looking for unsecured
lockers at a fitness club. Gecaj had warrants for his arrest
in Westport, New Canaan, New Haven, Michigan, and White
Plains, N.Y. According to the New Canaan warrant, Gecaj
somehow gained access to lockers at the New Canaan YMCA that
had been secured with combination locks in March 2010. He
took credit cards and cash from the lockers, and the credit
cards were later used at Best Buy in Norwalk and Target in
Stamford. (Source
