3VR Integrates Video Intelligence Platform With Veridocs
Identity Authentication Solution
San
Francisco – Sept. 11, 2012 – 3VR, the video intelligence
company, today announced the integration of its Video
Intelligence Platform with Veridocs’ identity
authentication and compliance solution. This will enable
3VR customers to better combat fraud and reduce
investigation time by associating video events with the
use of fraudulent identification documents.
"Our partnership with Veridocs underscores our vision
for the Video Intelligence Platform - to allow 3VR
customers to deploy a wide variety of applications to
extract actionable information from their video data,"
said CEO Al Shipp. "Veridocs’ powerful identity
authentication solution is a valuable tool to help our
customers battle fraud."
Veridocs, which identifies fraudulent documents by
scanning and cross-referencing against security features
present in authentic IDs, is currently deployed across a
range of industries such as retail, telecom,
hospitality, public safety and gaming, including 70
percent of casinos along the Las Vegas strip.
When integrated into Veridocs, 3VR’s Video Intelligence
Platform can receive live, near- instantaneous alerts
whenever Veridocs detects fake or altered documents,
enabling businesses, particularly those in industries
with significant reputational, financial or regulatory
risks, to better prevent fraud before or as it happens.
For example, if a customer presents a fake ID to a bank
teller to deposit a check, the 3VR-Veridocs integration
can quickly notify the security team, enabling the bank
to stop the transaction before a potential crime can
occur.
"3VR’s outstanding video intelligence technology was a
perfect fit with Veridocs’ solution," said John Mahoney,
Executive Vice President of Veridocs. "Enabling our
customers to integrate identity authentication efforts
with their broader video security system will streamline
security management, mitigate risk due to identification
fraud and ultimately deliver a better ROI on security
infrastructure."
Veridocs also imports key information from a scanned ID,
such as the photo and demographic information, into
3VR’s video management system, allowing customers to
associate that ID with a particular video event and use
the information to search against recorded video data.
For example, if a customer presents a fake ID, end users
can use the ID photo alongside 3VR’s facial surveillance
analytic to assess if the person previously frequented
the institution, helping security teams to build cases
more quickly and effectively.
Any relevant information from the video event and the
fake ID can also be distributed to 3VR’s CrimeDex, a
criminal investigation collaboration network that allows
law enforcement and business communities to share
business-related crime information, helping identify
suspects and solve crimes across jurisdictional
boundaries.
