Support for Hosted Video Services through One-Click Camera
Connection
AXIS M1033-W ($279) and AXIS M1034-W ($329) feature SVGA or
720p resolution, Wi-Fi Protected Setup, PIR sensor, LED
illumination, two-way audio and I/O ports
CHELMSFORD, Mass. – May 15, 2012 –
Axis Communications, the world leader in network video,
today presents the small and affordable AXIS M1033-W and
AXIS M1034-W Network Cameras with wireless capability and
intelligent video surveillance features. They offer
wide-ranging video management support as well as
Axis’ unique One-Click Camera Connection for easy hookup
to a hosted video service over the Internet (i.e. Video
Surveillance-as-a-Service or VSaaS). They are ideal for
securing small businesses, retail stores, restaurants,
hotels and buildings where a wired connection may be
difficult or undesirable.
These latest models of the
AXIS M10 Series provide excellent video quality at 30
frames per second in both SVGA (AXIS M1033-W) and HDTV 720p
(AXIS M1034-W) resolutions. They feature wireless
capabilities with Wi-Fi Protected Setup protocol (WPS),
which simplifies the process of configuring logical security
on wireless networks. The combination of the wireless
802.11b/g/n standard and the WPS protocol assures
user-friendliness and high network security, while enabling
HDTV video to be streamed reliably over a wireless network.
"Hosted video surveillance is quickly becoming a main
driving force for the shift to digital surveillance,
especially in small, multi-facility systems where
end-customers were typically relegated to using an outdated
analog solution because of cost,” said Fredrik Nilsson,
general manager, Axis Communications, Inc. "With a button on
the back of the camera dedicated to easy WLAN pairing and
hosted video provisioning, our integrator partners can save
installation time and provide a cost-efficient IP video
solution with high resolution and intelligent video for
their customers.”
The cameras also feature a passive infrared (PIR) sensor for
detecting movement in the dark and a white LED light for
illuminating the scene automatically when motion is detected
or if manually activated by the user. Both cameras support
two-way audio with an integrated microphone and speaker,
allowing users to listen in on an area as well as playback
recorded audio to visitors or intruders remotely
(see
video). In addition to
these features, AXIS M1033-W and AXIS M1034-W include I/O
ports for connecting external devices such as door sensors
and panic buttons to initiate video recording and external
relays to activate lights.
AXIS M1033-W and AXIS M1034-W include support for
hosted video with One-Click Camera connection for
managing video hosting services over the Internet. This
feature can be used with any one of the
Axis Video Service
Provider interfaces or an Axis
Application Development
Partner (ADP) who supports One-Click Camera Connection,
including
Salient Systems,
ipConfigure and Milestone
Systems.
AXIS M1033-W and AXIS M1034-W models are supported by the
industry’s largest base of video management software through
the Axis ADP Program and AXIS Camera Station, and are ONVIF-compliant
for easy camera system integration.
AXIS M1033-W and AXIS M1034-W, which have a suggested retail
prices of $279 and $329, respectively, are expected to be
available for order in Q2 2012. For photos and other
