ORC suspects apprehended in Mesa
Arizona for $40,000 in razors
Mesa, Arizona – An ORC group that has been
boosting razors for the past year has been dismantled due to
the partnership of law enforcement and the Fry’s ORC team.
Two key members of the ORC organization, Roberto Lopez and
Francisco Omar Ruiz, were apprehended by Mesa Police. This
group was known to travel throughout Arizona and Mexico and
only targeted Gillette razors. The group has boosted in
excess of $40,000 in razors over the past 18 months. On
December 3rd and 8th suspects Roberto Lopez and Francisco
Omar Ruiz were observed boosting in excess of $1500 in
razors from Fry’s stores which is operated by The Kroger Co.
Mesa police was provided the license number which lead to
the arrests. The Fry’s ORC team had over 40 ORC incidents
opened on this group. Upon his interview, Lopez admitted to
all 40 thefts and stated they boosted the razors because
"they were easy to resell". (source

5 arrested during investigation of Durham-area ORC retail
theft ring
Over 45 days, members of the ring stole items from retailers
in Durham and surrounding areas, then resold them to other
businesses, authorities announced Monday. Durham police, who
spearheaded a two-month investigation that led to the
arrests, also seized thousands of dollars in cash, three
vehicles and a firearm while executing search warrants at
several businesses. the most commonly stolen items were
whitening strips, cigarettes, electronics and
over-the-counter prescription products such as Tylenol and
Mucinex.
Lt. Patricia Vickers, a Durham police spokeswoman, said the
N.C. Alcohol Law Enforcement, the Creedmoor Police
Department and investigators from the retail chains Food
Lion, Walgreens and CVS participated in the investigation.
Police say the group of suspects is responsible for
documented losses that have exceeded $60,000 over a 45-day
period. Police are urging anyone with information on the
