Sayegh Wins Two
Entrepreneurship Awards
in One Night
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif., (November 19, 2014) – In the packed
Exhibit Hall
of the Riverside Convention Center, in front of 760 guests, the founder and
CEO
of USS, Adel Sayegh, has been declared the entrepreneur of the year. The
12th
annual Spirit of the Entrepreneur Award ceremony saw 27 finalists vie for
the
highest honors in nine categories. Sayegh won in the Most Innovative
category,
and then at the end of the night also won the Best of the Best Award,
becoming
the overall winner.
Sayegh is the founder and CEO of USS, the largest privately held loss
prevention
company in the U.S. He started his business in his garage in 1995, and today
—19
years and over 100 patents later—USS provides security solutions to some of
the
nation’s largest retail chains. “Behind every successful entrepreneur there
is a
whole team of dedicated people that helped him build the company,” said
Sayegh
in his acceptance speech. He thanked his family for their support and
encouragement, and his employees for their hard work and dedication.
“Each year we find out just how deep the entrepreneurial talent pool of the
Inland Empire is,” said Dr. Mike Stull, founding organizer of the event and
director of Cal State San Bernardino’s Inland Empire Center for
Entrepreneurship. “Each award recipient is evaluated in terms of taking
risks
and building a successful enterprise that creates jobs and value where none
existed before.”
This is a second major recognition for Sayegh in as many months. In October
he
received an award from California Peace Officers Association for harnessing
his
company’s technology to improve the safety of police officers.
