ORC Theft ring was run out of Melbourne, FL ice cream shop
Brevard County Sheriff's Office deputies said Wednesday that they had busted a
retail theft ring that was being run out of an ice cream shop. Deputies said the
group was stealing large amounts of health products and then resold them online
between November of 2012 to June of this year. Four people were arrested,
including 50-year-old Lisa McDermott, 59-year-old James McDermott, 79-year-old
Leonard Greenberg and 60-year-old Thierry Lettiere. The group was arrested on
various charges including racketeering, money laundering and dealing in stolen
property. "Investigators were able to identify a cooperating individual who
provided information that individuals were stealing large amounts of health
products that were then being taken to a business in West Melbourne known as the
Ice Cream Depot," the Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

CA pair suspected of ID theft after 138 cards found in vehicles Two
Glendale men were arrested on suspicion of identity theft on Tuesday after being
caught with more than 100 allegedly fraudulent credit cards in their possession,
police said. Artur Ghazaryan, 28, and Havhannes Ghazaryan, 26, who are not
related, were arrested shortly after 7 p.m. in a parking lot, after a police
officer searched vehicles tied to them and found a total of 138 credit cards,
four iPhones and other pieces of evidence linked to identity theft and fraud.

arrested in Auburn, CA in alleged baby formula thefts; 4 people allegedly stole
$6K of merchandise from stores The Placer County Sheriff's Department
arrested three people and are looking for a fourth person in connection with the
theft of a large amount of baby formula from an Auburn store, officials said
Thursday. “They had $6,000 worth of mostly baby formula, large bottles of
tequila, a lot of Prilosec over the counter medication and Sensodyne
toothpaste,” said Dena Erwin of the Placer County Sheriff’s Department.

Polk Co. FL Sheriff ORC Unit makes 2 arrests at Lowes and Target
The Polk County Sheriff’s Organized Retail Crime (ORC) Unit, during two separate
investigations, has made one arrest and obtained arrest warrants for three other
suspects who are engaging in organized retail theft. According to the affidavit
in July 2014, the Lakeland Police Department arrested Michael Hamlin of Orlando
and charged him with grand theft after Hamlin attempted to steal fiberglass
rolls from the Lowe’s store in north Lakeland. Wilkinson would accompany Hamlin in
the stores and act as a distractor and lookout. Hamlin told the detective he was
paid approximately $200 by Wilkinson for every three rolls Hamlin stole. In a
separate investigation, PCSO ORC detectives identified two suspects who
repeatedly stole electronics from multiple Target stores in Polk and Osceola
counties. The suspects stole flat-screen televisions, GPS devices, and radar
detectors from the Target store located in Davenport, valued at over $1,200.
