Trio arrested in separate shoplifting cases in San Antonio, TX -
with female
suspect busted 8-30-13 for $500,000 ORC bust in San Antonio posted on Daily
Three people busted hitting stores in separate cases but all tied together.
Looks like the same crew busted last year. They were hitting the same businesses
on multiple times with Home Depot being one of them. One female suspect is the
same woman busted in five member ORC bust posted on the Daily August 30, 2013.

Two Miami suspects arrested with 100+ counterfeit credit cards in Beaverton,
Ore., after targeting big brand stores this past weekend Detectives
were notified about two people likely using counterfeit credit cards by
Nordstrom Loss and Prevention. When detectives investigated, they say they found
that the two suspects were using counterfeit credit cards and targeting big
brand stores like Nordstrom, Staples, Office Depot, Sears, JC Penney and others.
Police say when they caught up with the suspects, Yasser Hernandez, 28, and Raul
Gonzalez-Rodriguez, 26, were at Avis Car Rental at PDX — the two were trying to
switch out rental cars. The alleged partners in crime are both from Miami and
came to Portland on March 26. Police say they recovered more than 100
counterfeit credit cards and documents with credit card numbers from the
suspects along with available credit limits on each card ... just to make sure
they didn’t go over budget. Police say they also found about $10,000 in gift
cards, cash and merchandise. (Source

European couple hit Vail fur shops for two high end furs over the weekend
Several Vail Village businesses were taken by surprised this weekend when
shoplifters made off with some high-dollar furs, then seem to have skipped town.
On Saturday, the Dennis Basso boutique in the Four Seasons reported to the Vail
Police Department that someone had stolen a sable fur coat valued at $95,000. On
Monday, after investigating the Dennis Basso incident, police discovered that
there had been another similar theft that happened on Sunday at Fantasia Furs on
Bridge Street. (Source

Two Arrests In Chainsaw Theft Ring hitting stores in Michigan
Two Chicago residents are free on bond today in connection with a
two-state retail fraud ring. 35-year old Ali Ivanov and 57-year old Gaci Juric
are accused of stealing nearly $10,000 worth of Stihl chainsaws from various
Michigan stores in March. Police say they then tried to sell the stolen saws on
Craigslist in Chicago. Most of the saws have been recovered. A third suspect is
still being sought. Investigators from eight departments in four Michigan
counties and two Chicago departments have worked together for a year on the
case. If convicted, Ivanov and Juric face up to 20 years in prison and up to
$100,000 in fines. (Source

Two jailed on burglary, theft charges from Walmart in Vancouver, WA
Two Vancouver area residents have been arrested in connection
with the theft of car battery cores from the Woodland Walmart store, Summer N.
Smith and Michael R. Scott were taken into custody March 23 and charged with 14
counts of burglary, theft, malicious mischief and trespass. Police said the
thefts occurred from May 2013 through last month from a locked and secured
storage area in the store. Walmart reported the loss of 349 batteries with a
total value of $4,188 during that period.
