Traveling Jewelry Salesman targeted by an armed gunman in San Carlos, CA
The victim, a 43-year-old jewelry salesman, had arrived
Geoffrey's Diamonds and Goldsmith at the store in possession of a case of gems.
While he was crossing the street, at least one masked suspect confronted him and
brandished a silver semi-automatic pistol, deputies said. The suspect demanded
the victim's case containing the jewels. The suspect grabbed the case and fled
toward three other masked suspects waiting inside an SUV.

Tijuana-Based ID Theft Conspiracy Busted
Tijuana-based identity theft ring which netted more than $100,000
and involved two men -- one of whom is a resident from San Diego’s South Bay --
has been taken down by U.S. federal officials, according to indictments unsealed
this week. The suspects stole about 4,200 customers’ data between Dec. 2012 and
June 2013, though the scheme dates back to July 2011.

Baby Formula Shoplifter Sentenced to Probation, Community Service in East
Greenwich, RI The man East Greenwich Police were trying
to identify in connection with the theft of numerous cans of baby formula from
the CVS on South County Trail has been arrested. Police said Dennis McGovern,
46, with a last known address in Cumberland, was charged with two counts of
shoplifting. Police said McGovern stole baby formula from the store on two
separate occasions in January and February respectively. Last week, police
distributed images of him captured by store security cameras via the Rhode
Island Web site in the hopes of identifying him. Court records show McGovern has
had more than two-dozen run-ins with the law for a variety of charges since the
1980s. McGovern pleaded no contest to the two shoplifting charges, one of which
was dismissed. He was sentenced to six months of probation, ordered to perform
10 hours of community service and make restitution. He was also ordered to pay

Two women in Beulah, ND busted leaving Walmart with $700 of merchandise
Two Beulah women face multiple charges after alleged shoplifting incident at the
Mandan Walmart. A caller told police two women had stolen several items and left
the store. Officers located the suspects vehicle and found over $700 dollars in
merchandise, drugs and drug paraphernalia and an eight year old girl.
