Career shoplifter in Polk County, FL arrested in Home Depot thefts; admits to
theft for past 25 years, averaging $600 to $700 per day Polk County
deputies said a self-proclaimed career shoplifter who admitted stealing up to
three times a week and selling the proceeds for drugs, faces charges in two Home
Depot thefts in the past month. Deputies said Richard McIntosh, 56, of Winter
Haven, stole $320 in wire on Dec. 6 from a store in Lakeland and $180 in screws
from a Winter Haven store Sunday. McIntosh told authorities that for the past 25
years he has brought in “$600 to $700 per day” by stealing gift cards and
merchandise from Home Depots, selling the proceeds to buy crack cocaine.

Two Great Falls, MT residents were arrested Wednesday on charges of shoplifting
more than $2,000 worth of merchandise from Walmart Walmart Loss Prevention
personnel videotaped one suspect pushing a cart with a $950 60-inch television
out the doors on Jan 5. The second suspect reportedly assisted her with loading
the device. One of the suspects also attempted to steal a full cart of
merchandise in a similar manner Monday, but was stopped at a door and fled. Both
suspects were also videotaped escaping with another cart valued at $1,000 the

Walmart baby formula thefts possibly related in Vineland, NJ
The first incident occurred on Jan. 1 around 5:48 p.m. when a man and a woman
loaded a shopping cart with baby formula and a 47-inch Vizio television. The
next day around 9:40 p.m., a similar incident happened when two women filled a
shopping cart with baby formula and a 50-inch Sanyo television. The two thefts
total over $2000. This is the fourth incident in two months in which the
Vineland Police Department reported baby formula stolen from Walmart.
