Prosegur USA Expands the Availability of Thermal FLIR Cameras for Body
Temperature Screening
HERNDON, Va., (July 9, 2020) –
Prosegur USA, a global
leader in security technology, announced that it has increased the supply of
high-quality FLIR thermal cameras that can be used for contactless body
temperature screening. The company also reaffirmed its commitment to helping its
customers deploy thermal imaging solutions in strict compliance with FDA
guidelines.
“FLIR cameras are some of the most advanced thermal imaging solutions available
on the market, which offer quick and accurate temperature measurement from a
safe distance,” said
David Crow, Prosegur USA’s senior vice president of
commercial development. “Not only do they allow the guard at the door to check
temperature of people entering, but they are ONVIF-compliant, meaning they can
easily be integrated into most of the popular video management systems (VMS) for
remote access and monitoring.”
“Thermal video technology can a very helpful part of your overall temperature
screening efforts, but it is extremely important to use it according to
the
guidelines set by the FDA, which includes having a secondary verification,” said
Mike Dunn, Prosegur USA’s chief technology officer. “Companies that don’t, risk
not only fines but also inaccurate temperature readings which can lead to people
with fever being allowed to enter premises. For us at Prosegur USA, the number
one priority when deploying these cameras is to ensure our customers get
accurate readings from a quality solution, and also to help our customers with
training materials for their employees on the proper use of the system.”
