Last month, luxury sales excluding jewelry soared 11.6% year over year, the 10th consecutive month of increases, according to data service MasterCard Advisors SpendingPulse.  But luxury shopping is tied closely to stock market performance. Analysts said rich shoppers could pull back again if their portfolios take a big enough hit and if they sense long-term volatility.  That would be bad news for the struggling economy because affluent shoppers wield outsized spending power: The richest 20% of households account for about 40% of total consumer spending in the U.S.  (Source

eBay Supported Investigation Leads to Conviction & Jail Sentences for Nine Fraudsters

eBay Global Asset Protection investigators worked aggressively with law enforcement in the detection and investigation ultimately leading to the arrest and conviction of nine suspects including a husband, wife and son involved in thefts from Superdrug distribution center by company drivers. The total loss is projected at approx. $175K (USD) and when one property was searched, police found almost $65,000 (44K Euro) worth of stolen property and his wife was packing parcels ready to send to eBay customers. Seven men and one woman pleaded guilty at Crown Court to conspiracy to steal between March and June last year. One suspect previously was convicted. After the sentencing, SR Investigating Officer, said: "This was a well organized and sophisticated conspiracy. The male defendants exploited their positions of delivery drivers and drivers' mates for Superdrug to steal huge quantities of high value perfumes and toiletries which were for onward sale."  Click here for full article.

The "rumor mill" is a very treacherous and unforgiving world of fact and fiction that at times is filled with innuendos, accusations, untruths, and whatever gets added to the information being talked about regarding companies and people.  Participating in it is human nature and we all know third party information leaves a lot to be desired. So the rule of thumb should be to be cautious about believing, try not to form an opinion until you've heard both sides, understand the agendas that every one has, and most importantly be careful about what you say.

Good Luck
