On June 26 several subjects were arrested after they used a sledge hammer to break into the Coach store in Carmel, California. The subjects were in possession of over $10,000 of Coach items that they had stored in plastic totes. The subjects are from the Fresno, California area. This is the second time that we have had subjects breaking into a Coach store that were later arrested and were from the Fresno, California area. The previous break-in was in Modesto, California (Vintage Faire Mall) on February 21. We think this group are major players and may be linked to other break-ins in Northern California and would like to get the word out. People can contact Dan Hafford, Divisional VP Loss Prevention for Coach, via email dhafford@coach.com and will be directed to the appropriate law enforcement agency to see if there are any connections.

Turning a Problem Into an Opportunity Managers have little choice about facing challenges, whether they come from competitors, economic conditions, or customer demands. However, they can choose whether they treat those challenges as problems or opportunities.  (2 different examples)

Recognize the Potential from Mistakes Too often it's easiest to see a mistake and toss it out in a rush to find the correct answer or item. But what if your mistakes were someone else's answers? John Arrow: What Do You Tell a Team That Has Failed There's a feel-good trend that failure is to be celebrated -- but where does it add value? Mutual Mobile CEO and president John Arrow talks about how to tap into failure's advantages. (The right way to celebrate failure)

You Are Not a Failure Success sells. Everybody loves a winner. These clichés are reaffirmed every day in our business and media culture. In this kind of environment, it's all too easy to feel like a failure -- but just because the world doesn't yet recognize your genius doesn't mean it's not there.  (Are you a Picasso or Cezanne?)

Tip of the Day - Sponsored by Vector Security

The speed of the day and today's economic pressures often tempts even the most defined professional to take shortcuts and risk exposures that ultimately they have to mentally deal with and occasionally have to face the consequences for. There is no better use of the adage, It's the Tortoise vs. the Hare, and the tortoise always wins, that applies here. Staying grounded in your principals, committed to your mission and being a professional is what should drive every executive every day – remembering that long term actions speak louder than words and the tortoise always wins will hopefully rule the day.

Just a thought,
