Walgreen Co. Reports 17.6 Percent Increase
Walgreen Co. announced record earnings and sales for the
second quarter and first half of fiscal year 2011. Net earnings per
diluted share for the quarter ended Feb. 28 increased 17.6 percent

mega-merger
Sprint believes the deal would stifle competition and
potentially hurt its profitability. Sprint, the No. 3 U.S. mobile
service, already faces tough competition from its two bigger rivals,

the No. 4 U.S. operator, would leapfrog Verizon Wireless as market

Hackers are setting up phony Japan disaster domains that are
actually secret phishing sites. They look real, but these bogus
sites, with the aid of aggressively targeted spam messages, are
swindling computer users out of money and vital personal and
confidential information that they would ordinarily never share,

Investigators Support Law Enforcement on Major Fraud Rings
eBay investigators around the world, including on-site personnel in
North America, Europe and Romania, assisted local & federal law
enforcement agencies with smashing major fraud rings based in
Romania, but operating in South Florida. In recent years, South
Florida has become a hub for middlemen working for Romanian crime
syndicates that post vehicles and other big-ticket items on auction
sites in hopes of duping American bargain hunters. At least 23
people have been charged with participating in schemes, most accused
of picking up wire transfers using bogus identities. Romania, a
former Soviet satellite state, has become well known as a base for
Internet scams. There are no official estimates of how many
Americans have been victimized by these groups, but a member of one
fraud ring acknowledged in court that he oversaw about 180 money
pickups - many in Broward and Miami-Dade Counties - that took in
nearly $481,000 in a year.
