One study shows that 41% of organizations can't determine how frequently they're targeted by advanced cyber attacks, most companies can't tell you when they were attacked, and half of all organizations involved in known 2010 data breaches also didn't disclose the type of attack or the number of affected records.  (Source informationweek.com)

Chinese auction web site TaoBao is in no hurry to take down a seller trying to sell 50,000 stolen iTunes accounts that has an associated active credit card of the person whose account was stolen from.  It's also stated that the account will be good for about 12 hours allowing the buyer plenty of time to max out the card before it gets canceled.  (Source geek.com)

Mexican long-haul truckers may be back on U.S. roads soon if they meet U.S. emissions standards, undergo safety audits, and agree to driver background checks.  This doesn't please the Teamsters and they're screaming it'll cost jobs and why would we do it when drug cartel violence along the border is just getting worst.  Obama administration officials are the ones pushing the proposal.  This could really pose some issues from a Loss Prevention prospective in the trucking industry.  (Source Associated Press)

It's time for the industry to evolve the overused mantra of "Doing More with Less" and start using one that truly reflects our current state, "Doing the Best With What You've Got" because staffing models aren't going to change and job growth will never be what it was in 2006 or 2007.  Initially the old mantra was accurate and something everyone had to get use to and adjust to.  But now we're here and it's not going to change and it's time to move on and accept where we are.  Profit pressures will actually increase this year and it's time for the LP industry to take the lead and adopt a new realistic mantra that not only reflects reality, but motivates-inspires-and eliminates the negative connotations that "Doing More With Less" infers.  As an individual, that mantra infers we're all sacrificing-overworked-underpaid-and running.  Well Ok, we're all there now what?  It's time to send the industry - the young executives - the companies - the right message, we're all:

"Doing the Best With What We've Got"
