PayPal Cuts WikiLeaks' Access to Funds Amid Global Scrutiny

PayPal Inc., the payment processor owned by EBay Inc., cut access to the whistle-blowing website WikiLeaks.org for violating its acceptable use policy. PayPal suspended the account after the U.S. said WikiLeaks activities were in violation of the law, a spokesman for the company said. PayPal wasn't contacted by any government agency and took the action on its own, the spokesman said. PayPal has permanently restricted the account used by WikiLeaks due to a violation of the PayPal Acceptable Use Policy, which states that our payment service cannot be used for any activities that encourage, promote, facilitate or instruct others to engage in illegal activity. We've notified the account holder of this action. Click here for full article.

The worst question to hear from an employer is what are your salary expectations? The best answer is not to give one. Most don't do well with this question and tend to shoot for the moon at the beginning and that's exactly the wrong time to even try. Certainly the employer is trying to determine if they can afford you, but really they're trying to see how realistic you are and how committed you are to their position. Going into the interview, you already know their range and if they can afford you. So play it smart and wait for an offer before you even think about your number, because at the end of the day it's all about how much they want you and how much you want them that drives the right number for both of you.

Good luck,
Gus Downing
