Marlene Kusumoto was named Director of Loss Prevention for Anna's Linens reporting to Neil Watanabe, their CFO.  They've been without a Director for some time and this represents the 24th senior LP position added back to the industry in North America since March 2010 after having lost 44 senior LP positions in North America between June 2008 and February 2010.

Websense 2010 Threat Report says cyber criminals are mounting an "all-out attack on businesses" with 52% of data-stealing attacks conducted over the web, 9% of data stealing attacks happening over e-mail, and 90% of all unwanted e-mails contained links to spam sites of malicious websites, up 4% from 2009.  Firewalls, antivirus software and simple URL blockers don't work now with cyber criminals bypassing filters thru rich media like flash and using social networking sites and legitimate websites to spread their script-based attacks.  (Source computerweekly.com)

Man uses another person's social security number to get restaurant jobs in Aspen beginning in 2007 and the IRS contacts the real person claiming he hadn't reported earnings.  The real person then contacted Aspen police and an arrest was made.  (Source aspendailynews.com)

Compromised social security numbers are the backbone of identity theft, a crime that is getting more serious. Most cases of identity theft can be traced back to an employee, family member or friend, says Kirk Nahra, a privacy expert and attorney. The recession has impacted everyone and the old definitions of the way corporate America viewed resumes and executives are changing slowly.  From taking lesser positions, to longer unemployment times, to lower credit scores, corporate America is finding they have to change as well to a certain extent about the way they view such things.  But the change is slow and corporate America is even more committed now than ever to finding that executive who can go beyond the job description and are willing to do it for less.  The real problem lies in the housing market where millions are upside down and relocations are frozen.  Even if an executive volunteers to move themselves, corporate America is not listening for the most part.  This is one hurdle that may be with us for quite some time.
