Yesterday's report on the snooping "Firesheep" app available on Mozilla's Firefox browser that allows users to identify other users' website activity on unsecured Wi-Fi networks was added to Microsoft's antivirus detecting software.  The "security researcher" who developed it, Eric Butler, a Seattle-based web applications developer, took to his blog to counter claims that the tool is unethical and perhaps illegal.  (Source computerworld.com)

The Federal Reserve will sink $600 billion into government bonds in a bold plan that it hopes will drive interest rates even lower than they already are and start the chain reaction that finally creates jobs and invigorates the economy.  "Bottom line: The plan provides a boost to the economy's growth, but it is not going to solve our problems," said Mark Zandi, Chief Economist at Moody's Analytics. "Even with the Fed's action, we're going to feel uncomfortable about the economy in the next six to 12 months."  (Source Associated Press)

One of your primary objectives in any negotiation should be to show a positive, upbeat and an enthusiastic approach to the entire process regardless of the offer.  Always wait for the details before accepting any offer because the devil may be in the details.  Remember the hardest thing to negotiate is the benefits because of precedent setting company standards.  If you prepared the employer before the offer with a written (emailed) list of your entire current package in detail, it can make it easier to discuss when it counts the most.

Good luck
Gus Downing
